Safer Internet Day 2024

The image is a promotional graphic for Safer Internet Day, indicating that the event is one week away. The text "One week until Safer Internet Day" is prominently displayed at the top in large, bold letters. Below it, the phrase "connect. reflect. protect." is written, encapsulating the goals of the day. The graphic includes a cheerful cartoon character resembling a smartphone with arms and legs, holding a globe, next to the Safer Internet Day 2024 logo. There's also a depiction of a calendar with the date "February 6" clearly shown, alongside an email envelope and a cursor arrow, symbolizing digital communication. A checkmark inside a shield near the calendar hints at the theme of online safety and security. The background is a pleasant gradient of teal, and the overall design is simple yet engaging, conveying the message of staying connected and protected online.

Join the Movement: Support Safer Internet Day 2024

Safer Internet Day is a global initiative to raise awareness of online safety issues.  This year it’s Tuesday 6th February!

The eSafety Commissioner leads the initiative in Australia, in order to educate people about online safety risks, like online abuse, how to be safe online and where to go for help.

This Safer Internet Day we’re encouraging you and your Club to take three simple actions when approaching online safety: Connect. Reflect. Protect.

Connect safely by keeping apps and devices secure and reviewing your privacy settings regularly.

Reflect on how your actions online may affect others or your safety.

Protect yourself and others by visiting eSafety.gov.au to find out how to stay safe online and report online abuse.

By doing these things and sharing the Connect. Reflect. Protect message, we can work towards making every day a Safer Internet Day.

The countdown is on! The Office of ESafety wants to know: how are you celebrating Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 6 February? If you’re still looking for ways to get involved, check their campaign page for ideas and resources. Whether you’re a school, workplace or family, there’s something for everyone.

The easiest way to show your support is on social media. You can:

Download and share their supporter tiles or campaign video. Use the tags #ConnectReflectProtect #SID2024 @eSafetyOffice.

Record a video for social media sharing why it’s important to Connect. Reflect. Protect.

Let’s work together to make the internet a safer space. Your support is crucial in making Safer Internet Day a success.
