Season’s Greetings to you all

No sooner had ASCCA’s Annual Conference been wound up, Annual General Meeting taken place and here we are in December and all that comes with the festive season.

Cursive text saying Thank you!

Firstly, I’d like to make mention of the Conference – thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to absolutely EVERYONE – sponsors, attendees, guest speakers, prize donors, ASCCA personal.  It was so good to see so many old friends’ come together again for ASCCA – not to mention the lady herself, Emeritus President, Nan who officially opened the days’ events.

From my perspective behind the scenes was a very smooth operation most ably controlled by ASCCA’s Media Officer, Natika, supported by Ivan from AUSOM.  The Conference Day was the culmination of many weeks’ work by both Alex and Tik.

The Annual General Meeting

Despite my laptop deciding to freeze right at the point of re-joining Zoom to open the meeting necessitating me to chair the meeting by phone, while all other attendees were duly connected, the meeting managed to run reasonably smooth – and was the shortest AGM I have ever attended.
Annual reports will be on the website to view.

Farewell Alex and Rene

Unfortunately we say farewell, at least for the time being, to Directors Rene Beeldman and Alex Zaharov-Reutt, who were not in a position to re-nominate at this time.

ASCCA’s Accountant, Michael Ludowici said, “I’d like my appreciation for the efforts of Rene over the last couple of years noted.  He has always been available to ensure our suppliers and employees have been paid on time and his considered approach to the task of approving payments has been of enormous benefit to me and the company generally.”

Alex has been an integral driving force for ASCCA’s marketing, and especially the Conference Planning over the last few years.

We’re looking forward to 2023, with lots of planning on the drawing board.

May we take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Warm regards,

Jennifer Willcox
