We are excited to announce the latest Be Connected Digital Mentor training dates for September, 12th September in Perth – in partnership with the Centre for Accessibility Australia, and 20th and 22nd September online option (two half day sessions form the full day – registrants must be available for both sessions).
What’s a Digital Mentor?
A Digital Mentor is a guide who assists others in learning and becoming comfortable with technology, such as computers, smartphones, and the internet. They patiently and supportively teach skills like sending emails, using apps, and navigating the online realm. A Digital Mentor embodies the role of a friendly teacher, empowering older adults to gain confidence and proficiency in various technological aspects.
Technical expertise is not the primary requirement for a Digital Mentor. Instead, the focus is on interpersonal skills. Patience, enthusiasm, adaptability, and good listening are essential qualities. You don’t have to be an expert to make a meaningful impact as a Digital Mentor.
