The Club has been functioning since April 2001 teaching computer literacy to seniors; with the aim of making their lives more compatible with the information technology that surrounds them today. Classes are held each week, two hours a week for courses up to six weeks with a tutor and assistant. The subjects taught are Basic Computing, Word Processing, Excel, Desktop Publishing, Internet/Email and many others. A course on Understanding Your Computer is proving very popular and also a service of transferring slides/film on to a DVD. A course on managing digital photographs is held. There is a strong move now to hand-held devices such as iPads, tablets and iPhones - this is being catered for with discussion groups held in a more casual environment.
